Bigger plans make each credit cheaper. At the regular monthly price, Kling's credit cost guide (July 28, 2026) lists 100 credits at $1.33 on Standard, $1.09 on Pro, $1.01 on Premier and $0.62 on Ultra.
You can also buy credits outside a plan. Kling's Credits Policy sets the standard price at $1 for 66 credits, as of September 2026.
How long Kling credits last
- Monthly plan credits: 31 days from the day they arrive.
- Purchased credits: 2 years.
- Free monthly credits for non-subscribers: 31 days.
Kling spends the credits that expire soonest first. If a generation fails, the Credits Policy says the credits are refunded.
What a Kling credit buys

Native 4K, for subscribers only, costs 30 credits per second, per the July 2026 credit cost guide. "Native audio" means Kling makes the sound with the picture: dialogue, ambience and effects.

Our math, at Standard's regular $8.80 for 660 credits: a 10-second 1080p clip with audio (120 credits) works out to about $1.60. Standard's 660 credits cover about 55 seconds of 1080p video with audio, or 110 seconds of 720p video without it. Retries come out of the same pool, so plan for more than one take per shot.
Kling 2.5 Turbo cost
When Kling 2.5 Turbo launched in September 2025, Kuaishou's announcement put a 5-second 1080p clip at 25 credits, down from 35 on Kling 2.1. Kling says rates can change, so check the generation panel for the current figure before a big batch.
Kling AI free plan limits
Kling's membership FAQ says non-subscribers can claim free credits each month when they log in. They last 31 days. The page does not say how many credits that is. Third-party sites quote figures, but we could not confirm any of them on Kling's own pages.
The free Basic plan has clear limits, as of September 2026:
- No 1080p or 4K. The Credits Policy lists 1080p as a subscriber-only feature.
- Kling watermark stays. Watermark removal needs a paid plan.
- No commercial use. Kling's plan table marks Basic content as not for commercial use.
- One video per generation. Paid plans can make four at once.
Buying credits does not remove these limits. Kling's FAQ says owning credits does not grant subscription benefits.
Kling API pricing
The API is billed in its own prepaid units, sold separately from the app plans. One unit costs $0.14 at list price. These per-second rates come from Kling's API pricing page and its full video price list, as of September 2026.

Units come in packages. A trial package costs $9.80 for 100 units, lasts 30 days, and can be bought up to five times. Standard packages run from $700 for 5,000 units to $7,560 for 60,000 units. They last 180 days with no rollover.

Kling 3.0 is the newer, more capable model. Kling 2.5 Turbo is older, silent and cheaper.

What Kling 3.0 is good at
Kling's user guide highlights five strengths:
- Dialogue. You pair each character with their lines, and the model matches voices and lip movement. It handles three or more speakers, plus accents and dialects.
- Multi-shot scenes. One generation can cut between angles, such as a shot-reverse-shot conversation. Custom Multi-Shot lets you set each shot's content and length.
- Consistent subjects. You can bind a character, product or place from 2 to 4 reference images or a video, including a voice.
- Text in the frame. Signs, captions and product lettering stay readable, which helps with product ads.
- Longer beats. Up to 15 seconds lets one clip carry a full action or line of dialogue.
What Kling 2.5 Turbo is good at
Kuaishou's launch release says 2.5 Turbo improved prompt adherence, bigger motion and camera moves, and style matching with reference images. Its examples include fight scenes, running with tracking shots, figure skating and group dance. It makes silent video, so you add voiceover and music afterward.
How to get more out of each Kling credit
Kling's own guide says a small test before scaling saves credits. These habits follow from the published rates:
- Draft cheap, finish sharp. Test at 720p without audio (6 credits/s). Re-run only the keeper at 1080p with audio (12 credits/s).
- Use the shortest length that fits the beat. Kling notes a focused 6-second shot can beat a loose 15-second one.
- Turn native audio off if you will add a voiceover later. That saves 3 to 4 credits every second.
- Skip 4K unless you deliver to big screens. At 30 credits/s, it costs 2.5 times as much as 1080p with audio.
- Give the model references. A start frame, end frame or bound subject cuts down on retries. Kling says clear references and direct prompts save more credits than vague prompts.
- Label every speaker. Write dialogue as: Mom (softly): "I didn't expect that." The user guide uses this format for multi-character scenes.
- Use monthly credits before buying top-ups. Monthly credits expire in 31 days. Purchased credits last 2 years.
