FrameSurfer publishes this guide and is one of the tools covered.
Seedance 2.0 costs about $0.15 per second at 720p and $0.37 per second at 1080p through ByteDance's official API, BytePlus ModelArk, as of September 2026. A 5-second 720p clip costs $0.76. Seedance 2.0 Fast is cheaper, at about $0.12 per second at 720p. The newer Seedance 2.5 costs about $0.23 per second at 720p and makes clips of up to 30 seconds.
In Dreamina, ByteDance's own creative app, you pay with subscription credits instead, and free daily credits let you try the model first.
One warning before the numbers: many sites with "Seedance" in their name are not run by ByteDance. We cover which is which below.
Official Seedance 2.0 API pricing (BytePlus ModelArk)
BytePlus is ByteDance's cloud platform. Its ModelArk pricing page bills video by tokens, but it also publishes example prices per clip. These are for a 5-second, 16:9 video with no video input, at list price, as of September 2026:
| Model | 480p | 720p | 1080p | 4K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.0 | $0.35 ($0.07/s) | $0.76 ($0.15/s) | $1.87 ($0.37/s) | $3.89 ($0.78/s) |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast | $0.28 ($0.06/s) | $0.60 ($0.12/s) | Not supported | Not supported |
| Seedance 2.0 Mini | $0.18 ($0.04/s) | $0.38 ($0.08/s) | Not supported | Not supported |
| Seedance 2.5 (newer) | $0.514 ($0.103/s) | $1.156 ($0.231/s) | $2.843 ($0.569/s) | Not listed |
How the token price works
A token here is a unit of video size. BytePlus estimates it as:
(input video seconds + output video seconds) × width × height × frames per second ÷ 1,024
So bigger frames, longer clips and reference videos all add tokens. Here are the token rates behind the table, in US dollars per million tokens, as of September 2026:
| Model | 480p and 720p | 1080p | 4K |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.0, no video input | $7.00 | $7.70 | $4.00 |
| Seedance 2.0, with video input | $4.30 | $4.70 | $2.40 |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast, no video input | $5.60 | Not supported | Not supported |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast, with video input | $3.30 | Not supported | Not supported |
A reference video lowers the rate per token, but its length is added to the token count. BytePlus's own example, as of September 2026: a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0 clip with a reference video costs $0.84 with a 2 to 4 second input, and up to $1.86 with a 15-second input.
Other rules that change the bill
- Audio. Seedance 2.0 can make sound with the picture. BytePlus prices the 2.0 series by resolution and video input only, with no separate audio line.
- Failed clips are free. BytePlus charges only for videos that generate successfully.
- Activation. To switch on Seedance 2.0, you need a BytePlus balance above $30, a $30 or larger AI Savings Plan, or a Seedance resource pack, per the Seedance 2.0 tutorial.
- Resource packs. As of September 2026, prepaid packs for Seedance 2.0 cost $4.30 per 1 million tokens (minimum seven), $43 for 10 million or $430 for 100 million. They expire after 90 days and cannot be refunded, per the resource pack page.
- Short-term discount (ended). From August 7 to October 7, 2026, BytePlus took 25% off Seedance 2.0 Fast and 60% off Seedance 2.0 Mini, for enterprise users on pay-as-you-go only. That offer has ended, so plan with the list prices above.
Seedance 2.5 pricing
Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's newer video model. BytePlus lists it next to the 2.0 series, at these example prices for a 5-second, 16:9 clip, as of September 2026:
| Seedance 2.5 | 480p | 720p | 1080p |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5-second clip | $0.514 | $1.156 | $2.843 |
| Per second | $0.103 | $0.231 | $0.569 |
So Seedance 2.5 costs about 1.5 times as much as Seedance 2.0 per second at 720p. What you get for it is length and references: Dreamina advertises Seedance 2.5 videos of up to 30 seconds from up to 50 references, against 15 seconds for the 2.0 series.
If you need one long, unbroken shot, 2.5 is the Seedance to pick. For 15-second social clips, 2.0 or 2.0 Fast costs less.
Seedance on Dreamina: ByteDance's own app
Dreamina is ByteDance's image and video app, part of CapCut. Its Seedance 2.0 page calls it the official website for accessing Seedance 2.0. You pay with credits from a subscription, not per token.
Dreamina's own Seedance 2.0 pricing guide, dated September 23, 2026, lists these promotional first charges for monthly plans:
| Monthly credits | Promotional first charge | Dreamina's stated Seedance 2.0 cost per second |
|---|---|---|
| 1,575 | $5 | $0.049 |
| 3,885 | $11 | $0.046 |
| 8,645 | $42 | $0.083 |
Read these numbers with care. They are first-month promotional prices. Dreamina's live plan page shows prices in local currency, and some tiers renew at a higher price after the first month. Check the checkout page for your region before you subscribe.
What the plans add, per that page: no Dreamina watermark on downloads, longer videos, higher resolution, smoother frame rates up to 60 FPS, and a fast queue. Dreamina also says users can try Seedance 2.0 with free daily credits, though the pages we checked do not list the amount.

Official vs third-party: who actually sells Seedance 2.0
Search results for "Seedance" mix ByteDance's own pages with independent resellers. Here is how to tell them apart, as of September 2026:
| Where | Run by | How you pay | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dreamina (dreamina.capcut.com) | ByteDance, official | Subscription credits, free daily credits | The official consumer app |
| BytePlus ModelArk | ByteDance, official | Pay per token, $30 balance to activate | The official API for developers |
| seedance.ai | Independent | The site's own plans | Not an official source |
| seeddance.io | Independent | The site's own plans | Not an official source |
| FrameSurfer | Independent | One plan, several video models | Runs Seedance 2.5 and 2.0 Fast next to other models, and makes finished short videos |
Both seedance.ai and seeddance.io state in their own site footers that they are not affiliated with ByteDance. Resellers set their own prices, so their per-second cost will differ from BytePlus. That is not wrong, but it is not "official Seedance pricing."
Seedance 2.0 vs 2.0 Fast vs 1.5 Pro vs 1 Pro vs 1 Lite
BytePlus describes the three 2.0 models simply. Pick Seedance 2.0 for the highest quality, 2.0 Fast to balance cost and speed, and 2.0 Mini for the best cost performance. All three share nearly the same features.
Official BytePlus prices for the older models, for a 5-second 16:9 clip at list price, as of September 2026:
| Model | 480p | 720p | 1080p |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 1.5 Pro, with audio | $0.12 | $0.26 | $0.58 |
| Seedance 1.5 Pro, silent | $0.06 | $0.13 | $0.29 |
| Seedance 1.0 Pro | $0.12 | $0.26 | $0.61 |
| Seedance 1.0 Pro Fast | $0.05 | $0.10 | $0.24 |
BytePlus's pricing page does not list Seedance 1.0 Lite, so we have no official API price for it.
FrameSurfer runs Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 Fast. Since October 12, 2026, it no longer offers the full Seedance 2.0. Here is how the two work inside FrameSurfer, from FrameSurfer's model catalog:
| Model (in FrameSurfer) | Clip length | Resolution | Starts from | Native audio |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5 | 4 to 30 s | 480p, 720p | Text, start image, end image, reference images | Yes |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast | 4 to 15 s | 480p, 720p | Text, start image, end image, reference images | Yes |
In FrameSurfer, use Seedance 2.0 Fast for drafts and volume work, and Seedance 2.5 for long single shots or when a character or product has to match its reference pictures. Turn native audio off for b-roll that will get a voiceover later. FrameSurfer adds voiceover, captions and music on any model.
What Seedance 2.0 is good at
ByteDance's Seedance 2.0 launch post (February 12, 2026) points to these strengths:
- Complex motion. Multi-person scenes and hard movement, such as pair figure skating and competitive sports, with fewer physics glitches.
- Mixed references. You can feed it up to 9 images, 3 video clips and 3 audio clips plus a text prompt. It can borrow composition, camera movement, motion and sound from them.
- Editing and extending. It can change a character, action or plot point in an existing clip, or continue a shot.
- Sound with the picture. It outputs two-channel stereo audio, with music, ambient effects and voices timed to the action.
- 15-second multi-shot clips. One generation can hold several shots.
ByteDance is also open about weak spots. The same post names detail stability, occasional audio distortion, keeping several subjects consistent, and text rendering as areas that still need work. It also says real human faces used as references need identity checks or legal permission.

Clip length, resolution and audio
Per BytePlus's Seedance 2.0 tutorial, as of September 2026:
- Length: 4 to 15 seconds per clip for Seedance 2.0, 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini.
- Resolution: Seedance 2.0 goes up to 1080p, plus 4K. 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini stop at 720p.
- Aspect ratios: 21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4 and 9:16.
- Audio: all three can generate sound with the video.
For longer videos, you extend a clip or cut several clips together. Seedance 2.5, the newer model, goes further: Dreamina advertises 30-second videos from up to 50 references.

Using Seedance inside FrameSurfer
FrameSurfer runs Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 Fast next to Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1 Fast, Wan 3, Grok Imagine and other video models, on one plan. You do not need a BytePlus account, a $30 balance or token math. You describe an idea, and FrameSurfer writes the script, generates each shot with the model you pick, and adds voiceover, captions and music. The cost shows before a generation runs.
To be fair about the trade-off: if you are a developer who wants 4K Seedance output or full reference-video control, the BytePlus API is the direct route. FrameSurfer offers Seedance 2.5 and 2.0 Fast at 480p or 720p, not 1080p. It fits best when you want finished short videos for TikTok, Reels or Shorts and want to switch models freely.
Have a product photo or character image? Start from it with FrameSurfer's image to video tool. You can compare every model's clip length, inputs and sound on the AI video models page.
