FrameSurfer publishes this guide and is one of the tools covered.
Yes. FrameSurfer's Agent is an AI video agent you chat with. You describe the video, paste a link or a script, or add photos. The Agent asks only what it needs, writes the script for you to check, then plans the scenes, makes the characters, pictures and clips, adds voiceover, captions and music, and builds the finished video. After that you can change text, timing and transitions by chat, or open the video in a timeline editor.
HeyGen's Video Agent works in a similar way but is built around AI presenters and avatars. FrameSurfer generates every scene instead. Details below were checked on October 22, 2026.
How the FrameSurfer Agent makes a video
- You start. Type an idea, paste a website or listing link, paste a script, or add up to 10 photos. You can also add up to 5 saved characters.
- It checks the facts. If you pasted a link, a review card shows what it read from the page. You fix facts and keep or remove photos.
- You choose the look. A setup card asks for the scene type: Animated AI images (moving pictures, the default) or AI video (generated clips). For AI video you then pick a model on a Budget, Mid-range or High-end scale.
- You check the script. The Agent shows the words and timing scene by scene. Type feedback or edit the lines directly.
- You approve once. One button shows the full price in credits. Nothing is charged before this.
- The Agent does the rest on its own. It plans each scene, makes a portrait for each recurring character and a picture for each scene, makes the clips, adds voiceover, music and captions, then builds the video.
- You export. The Agent stops at the finished video so you can watch it first. Click Export to get the MP4.
What you decide and what the Agent decides
| You decide | The Agent decides |
|---|---|
| The idea, link, script or photos | How to split the story into scenes |
| Animated pictures or AI video, and which model | What each scene shows and how the camera moves |
| The script words and timing | Character portraits and product pictures, so they look the same in every scene |
| The final go-ahead and price | Voiceover delivery, caption timing and music placement |
Editing after the video is built
By chat, at no cost: change a scene's text or text style, remove all text, change a scene's length, change transitions or camera motion, delete a scene, or turn the voiceover into captions.
In the timeline editor: trim scenes, clips and music, add one of 29 transitions, mute a track, replace a scene's clip with a new generation, an upload or stock footage, and go back to an earlier version. See our guide to AI video generators with a timeline editor.
Chat cannot make new media after the build. New clips, voices or music come from the editor or a new run.
FrameSurfer Agent vs other AI video agents
| Agent | Built for | Plan step before credits are spent | Editing after |
|---|---|---|---|
| FrameSurfer Agent | Generated scenes: stories, ads, product and listing videos, explainers | Script and timing review, then one price approval | Chat edits at no cost, plus a timeline editor |
| HeyGen Video Agent | Presenter and avatar videos with your brand kit | "Review Script and Delivery" page before "Generate draft" | Ask for changes in chat; scene edits in HeyGen's AI Studio |
| InVideo AI | Videos built from generated and stock footage | Prompt-based; its Basic plan uses "Agent Two Lite" | Timeline editor |
HeyGen's details come from its Video Agent guide, and InVideo's from its pricing page as of September 24, 2026.
Limits to know
- Videos run up to 3 minutes, in 9:16, 16:9 or 1:1.
- The free trial (20 credits) makes animated-picture videos. AI video clips need a paid plan.
- The Agent asks before it spends credits. It does not invent facts about your business: it uses what you typed or what the linked page says.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an AI video agent?
An AI video agent is a chat assistant that makes the whole video for you: it writes the script, decides the scenes, generates the visuals and audio, and edits the result. A plain AI video generator makes one clip from one prompt.
Do I have to write prompts for each scene?
No. You describe the video once. The Agent writes the scene prompts itself and keeps characters and products consistent between scenes.
Can I start from my own script?
Yes. Paste it into the Agent or use the Script to video page. It can read your script word for word as the voiceover, or polish it while keeping the meaning.
How long does it take?
It depends on the model and the number of scenes. Clips take the longest. The work runs on FrameSurfer's servers, so you can leave the page and come back to the finished video.
