How to remove audio from a video
- Drop one or more videos into the drop zone, or click it to browse your files.
- Click the Remove Audio button and wait for each file to finish.
- Check the Original Size, Muted Size and Audio Removed numbers.
- Click Download Muted Video, or Download All when you muted several videos.
Questions
Does muting lower the video quality?
No. The tool copies the video stream as it is and only drops the audio. The picture is not re-encoded, which is also why muting is quick.
What format do I get back?
The same format as your original file. An MP4 stays an MP4 and a MOV stays a MOV. The new file name ends in _muted.
Are my videos uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser with FFmpeg, so your files stay on your device. The first run has to load FFmpeg, so it can take a moment to start.
What are the limits?
Each video can be up to 2 GB. You can mute several videos in one batch, and no watermark is added. The tool removes the whole audio track, so it cannot mute just one part of a video.
