Questions

Are my videos uploaded to a server?

No. The compressor runs FFmpeg, compiled to WebAssembly, inside your browser. Your videos stay on your device. The first run has to load FFmpeg, so it can take a moment to start.

Which preset should I pick?

Medium Compression is selected by default and suits most videos. High Compression makes the smallest files but loses the most detail. Low Compression keeps the most detail but saves less space. The presets use CRF 35, 28 and 23.

Which files work?

Video files such as MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM and MKV, up to 2 GB each. You can add several videos and compress them in one batch, with no watermark added.

What file do I get back?

An MP4 file with H.264 video and 128 kbps AAC audio. Its name ends in -compressed. If a video is already very compressed, the new file may not be smaller, and the tool shows no reduction.
